CFA and Patient Regional Meetings
The CFA is planning to host small patient regional meetings throughout Canada in 2007 in an effort to directly communicate and engage all Fabry patients, families and care givers. These meetings will be about 3 to 4 hours in length and hopefully include a guest speaker as well as one of the CFA executive board members. The location of the meetings will be based on centers where there is sufficient concentration of patients in order to minimize travel time and costs. Vous êtes cordialement invités à assister à la réunion des patients du Québec de l'Association Canadienne de Fabry (L’ACF). Cette réunion aura lieu à l’Hôpital Sacré-cœur de Montréal, le samedi 14 novembre 2009, de 10 :00 à 14 :00 heure. Le numéro de la salle est le G 4115, au 4e étage du bâtiment principal. L’Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal est situé au 5400, boulevard Gouin Ouest dans le nord de Montréal. La réunion sera en français avec possibilité de traduction en anglais au besoin.
L'ordre du jour inclura une présentation par Dr. Daniel Bichet qui fera une présentation sur les nouveaux aspects dans le dépistage et le traitement de la maladie de Fabry.
L'objectif de la réunion est d’informer les patients Fabry du Québec ainsi que leurs familles. Du temps sera également alloué afin que vous puissiez discuter avec les autres patients et leurs familles. L'ACF fournira également une mise à jour sur les étapes importantes réalisées depuis sa création en mars 2006 ainsi que ses objectifs principaux pour 2010-2011. Les représentants des deux compagnies pharmaceutiques (Shire et Genzyme) qui produisent le traitement à enzyme substitutif (TES) seront également présentes afin de répondre à vos questions.
Une collation sera fourni et l’ACF vous remboursera vos déplacements à un taux de $.21/km sur demande.

Dear Quebec Fabry patient,
You are cordially invited to attend the Canadian Fabry Association’s (CFA) Quebec patient meeting. This meeting will take place at the Sacred Heart Hospital of Montreal on Saturday November 14th 2009, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The presentations will be in room G 4115 on the 4th floor of the main building. The Sacred Heart Hospital of Montreal is located at 5400 Gouin West boulevard The meeting will be held in French with possibility of translation to English if required.
On the agenda, Dr. Daniel Bichet, our Quebec expert in nephrology, will give us an up-date on new aspects in screening and treatment of Fabry patients.
The main objective of this reunion is to ensure that Quebec Fabry patients and their families remain informed. Some time will also be set aside to allow you to meet other patients and their families. The CFA will follow up with a brief up-date of its own activities since its March 2006 creation and its objectives for the 2010-2011 period. Representatives from the two pharmaceutical companies producing ERT (Shire and Genzyme) will be available to answer your questions.
A snack will be provided and the CFA has committed to reimburse your trip at a rate of $0.21/km upon request. Forms will be available at the meeting.
