CFA and Patient Regional MeetingsThe CFA is planning to host small patient regional meetings throughout Canada in 2007 in an effort to directly communicate and engage all Fabry patients, families and care givers. These meetings will be about 3 to 4 hours in length and hopefully include a guest speaker as well as one of the CFA executive board members. The location of the meetings will be based on centers where there is sufficient concentration of patients in order to minimize travel time and costs. If you would like more information or have any suggestions, please contact the CFA.

Patient Information Meeting In Cambridge
On Sunday October 27th patients and their families attended our first Ontario Patient meeting held by the Canadian Fabry Association. It was a very fulfilling afternoon as so many new patients were introduced to others. Many walked out with hope, a better understanding of their condition, and realized they are not only alone, but they have a wealth of support that is with them that some never even knew existed. As Rick Sgroi and Donna Strauss lead the meeting, we were also honored to hear many guest speakers who educated us on matters such as treatment, government actions, personal stories, gene therapy, and more. Many patients left eager to learn more and are keen to become more involved with the Canadian Fabry Association. The meeting was very touching and you knew it was a success when a 45 year-old Fabry patient walked out saying, “after attending that conference I am now, more then ever, inspired to help in any way I can.”
